Tribute to Dawn Elizabeth Powell, 1954 - 2026
Dedicated to the memory of Dawn Elizabeth Powell
This site is a tribute to Dawn Elizabeth Powell, who was born on June 06, 1954, and passed away peacefully on January 07, 2026 aged 71 at Howard Lodge Care Home. She has gone to be with best friend and Saviour, her Lord Jesus Christ. She is much loved as a wife to David, mother to Paul and Nathan, sister to Danny and Philip, nanny to Harry, Mia and Violet, aunt to Maria and Faith, and great aunt to Annie. She will be dearly missed and always remembered by her family and friends.
Dawn was born and lived in Tottenham where she worked most of her life as a cross stitch machinist for Louis Moreau. In her twenties Paul and Nathan were born and after a number of moves they settled in Chingford. In her forties, she started to attend the Church of the Good Shepherd Church in Collier Row and became a Christian there. After marrying David she moved to Doddinghurst and attended Immanuel Church Brentwood, and for the last two years of her life was lovingly cared for by the wonderful staff of Howard Lodge in Kelvedon Common.
Memorial Service
For the funeral service please wear either smart or formal attire - Dawn's favourite colour was red.
For those unable to attend in person, there will be a live stream of the funeral service commencing a few minutes before the service - see details below. Within a couple of days of the service it will be available to watch on demand for a further 28 days, using the same details.
If you would like to leave a tribute to Dawn, please go to the + Add button on the website. When submitting your tribute, you will be asked to register on the website using an email address.
Please consider making a donation to St. Francis Hospice which is a charity that was close to Dawn's heart, rather than sending flowers.
There will be a separate thanksgiving service at a later date after the funeral - click on Upcoming Event details below
